In 1997, David Blaine astonished everyone in magic with his televised street levitation. Guesses were made and attempts to associate it with the Balducci levitation were made, but the Blaine version method was, frankly, impossible in the real world, heavily aided by post production, multiple filmings, and excessive manipulation of the basic conditions that we, as observers, assume to be consistent. The one effect that comes closest to accomplishing the feat, as presented years before, was invented years later, the Magellan levitation.
